In the build up to this competition, a lot of training was done. There were also some new faces on the track like Seb G-C doing the discus. On Monday morning we set off early to get to the stadium which was 1hr 30 minutes away. Competing as part of the North Midlands region, this was our hardest track meet of the year. We got off to a good start, with a win in the hurdles from Joshua Akintolu. After that our form dipped however Alfie Chunnoo got us a win in the 100m. Dexter Cooper then continued on to win the 200m. We thrived tremendously in the field events and got loads of points across different events. Seb Garritt-Critchley and Robin Stanley both threw 20+ metre in the discus, Joshua Akintolu jumped 1.70m in the high jump, Makavo Togobo threw a shot putt well over 9 metres, Emanuel Richards threw the javelin 26+ metres, Will smart jumped over 10 metres in the triple jump and so many more outstanding performances were achieved. The 4x100m relay team were comfortable winners, with the Y7 athletes of Ayo Fasae, Will Taylor and Elias Locking all contributing in what was a deserved victory.

We have reached the National Finals which will be held at Chelmsford Stadium, Essex on Saturday 8th July. This is the first time we have done this since 2012!
