Over the summer, we celebrated another year of outstanding GCSE success, with almost 53% of results being the top 9-7 grades. The boys’ results are well deserved, coming in the context of downward pressure on the numbers of top grades awarded nationally and following disruption to their secondary education. The boys are very well set to thrive in their future studies in the Sixth Form.

Stand out performances included Shiraz B, Thomas G, Joseph G, Matthew H-B, James M, Harry M, Thomas R and Oscar S, who achieved straight 9-8 grades (formerly straight A*s), and 22 boys achieved straight 9-7s. 47 pupils were awarded at least one of those coveted Grade 9s. And, across the full range of ability we have at QEGS, pupils achieved results better than their benchmark expectations.

Thomas must be congratulated for his exceptional results of 11 grade 9s and an A* in his HPQ. He is now looking forward to his A Level studies at QEGS.

Daniel has achieved outstanding results, including 8 grades in the 8-9 range. He will be joining us for A levels in September, studying Academic PE as one of his options.

William achieved all grade 7-9s this morning, a wonderful achievement.

Twins Chris and Louis have 14 grades 7-9 between them.

Matthew’s results are amazing – 10 grades 9s is something to be celebrated!

Dr Richard Brookes, Head, commented:

I am incredibly proud of our Year 11 pupils for their remarkable accomplishments during their time at QEGS. They have made invaluable contributions to school life, balancing their academic pursuits with leadership roles and a diverse range of co-curricular activities while fostering personal development. Today, I commend their commitment, maturity, and resilience throughout their GCSE studies.
