A Joyful Harvest Festival Celebration in the Junior Section

8th October 2025

What a joyous Harvest Festival we had this morning! Our Junior Sections and Pre-Prep children gathered in Jubilee Hall to celebrate the importance of sharing and thinking of others. The Harvest celebrations are all about the importance of sharing, kindness and thinking of others. From the amazing amount of donations we received we are able to help two local charities who massively need all the help they can get. These two charities are Fare Share UK and St Catherine’s Food bank.

The celebration was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to learn about the crucial work of Fare Share UK, our special visitors for the morning. We heard first hand about the vital jobs they fulfil to support the most vulnerable people in our society. It was a wonderful lesson in community spirit for all the children.

We were incredibly proud of the contributions from our pupils. The hall was filled with wonderful poems and readings by our Head Boy/Girl teams, and we gained some fascinating insights from the members of the QEGS Gardening Club who had been busy growing rhubarb. The singing was truly amazing, with voices filling the hall and even giving Mrs. Gill goose bumps and making another teacher emotional! A big well done to every single pupil who participated and helped make the celebration so special.

A huge thank you to everyone for the incredible number of donations you provided. Your generosity was overwhelming and will make a substantial difference to so many people through Fare Share UK and St Catherine’s Food bank .

It was a beautiful morning of reflection, learning, and sharing.
