Prize Giving 2025

15th September 2025

Friday evening saw one of the highlights of the school calendar: our annual Prize Giving ceremony, a special occasion where we gather to celebrate the academic achievements of our students. Families and pupils began the evening with a relaxed drinks reception before moving into the QE Hall for the main event.

This year’s ceremony recognised the successes of the Class of 2024–25, with speeches from Chair of Governors, Martin Shevill, and guest speaker Alex Bluett (OS 2005).

We are especially grateful to Alex for returning to QEGS to share his reflections on school life and his professional journey. Having completed his A levels here in 2005, he is now a partner at Gibson Dunn’s Paris office. In his address, Alex spoke about practising both English and French law and offered valuable insights into living and working in France.

Head, Dr Richard Brookes, congratulated all prize winners and took the opportunity to highlight the vital role played by our teaching staff in supporting student success, alongside the ongoing encouragement of parents.

The evening was a wonderful celebration of effort, perseverance, and achievement. Prize Giving continues to be a fitting reminder of the values that underpin our school community and the importance of recognising learning and growth at every stage.
