As the nation marks Volunteers’ Week, the annual UK-wide campaign to recognise volunteers, Wakefield Grammar School Foundation is proud to celebrate the remarkable contributions of all of our alumni volunteers.
From mentoring current pupils and offering career advice, to supporting assemblies and contributing to key school initiatives, Old Savilian and Old Girl volunteers continue to make a lasting impact long after leaving the classroom.
Volunteers’ Week is a chance to formally recognise the generosity and commitment of these individuals, whose involvement continues to enrich our school community. So far this year we have been supported by over 100 of our former pupils, who have given more than 165 hours of their time to support our schools. This has included:
“We are incredibly grateful to every former pupil who chooses to stay involved,” said Abi Cattley, Development Director, “Their time, expertise, and encouragement make a real difference to our students, who benefit enormously from the connection to those who’ve walked these halls before them.”
If you have returned to school to support our current pupils in any way, thank you. Your continued support is a powerful reminder that your connection to our school community continues long after you leave the Foundation.
Thank you to all our volunteers, your time, passion, and support make all the difference.
