A Fond Farewell to Our Year 13 Leavers

12th May 2025

On Friday, we said farewell to our Year 13 students as they officially began their study leave. The day was filled with a mixture of celebration, reflection, and tradition as the boys marked the end of their QEGS journey.

The morning began with a special breakfast, offering the opportunity to share memories and enjoy time together as a year group. This was followed by their formal welcome into the Old Savilians Club, with Mr McKinlay presenting each student with their OS Ties—a symbolic rite of passage for all QEGS leavers.

In true QEGS style, the annual Year 13 Football Tournament added a light-hearted touch to the day, with students sporting a range of… creative outfit choices for the occasion.

The afternoon provided a moment for reflection, as students received their leavers’ books, filled with thoughtful messages from staff and their peers—capturing memories of their time at QEGS as they now look ahead to the future.

The celebrations concluded with a final meal in the Sixth Form Centre, bringing the cohort together for one last time before A-Level exams begin.

We wish all our Year 13 students the very best of luck with their exams and look forward to seeing many of them return in August to celebrate their achievements.
