QEGS was delighted to welcome back Old Savilians Ben, Rob, and Connor (Class of 2023) for an insightful and engaging talk with our Radcliffe Scholars about life at the University of Cambridge. Their session covered a wide range of topics, from the newfound independence that comes with university life to the importance of balancing academic work with social activities.
The trio shared their experiences of managing workload pressures, getting involved in societies and clubs, and making the most of opportunities beyond the lecture halls. One particularly engaging element was their introduction of “pub talk” – discussions without the use of phones – which challenged our scholars to think critically and creatively. One of the questions posed: How far is it from London to New York? sparked plenty of debate!
Ben, Rob, and Connor will also be part of our alumni panel at tonight’s Oxbridge Evening, where they will continue to share their expertise with students and parents at 7pm.
At QEGS, we are committed to fostering academic excellence and encouraging our students to aim high. Talks like these provide invaluable inspiration, giving our boys real insight into what it takes to thrive at the country’s top universities. We extend our sincere thanks to Ben, Rob, and Connor for their time, wisdom, and enthusiasm – their words will no doubt motivate our scholars to push themselves that extra mile.
