QEGS marked a historic milestone with a spectacular celebration of 150 years of rugby. The event brought together Old Savilians, parents, staff, current pupils, and the wider QEGS community for a day filled with sporting excellence, camaraderie, and nostalgia.
The centrepiece of the celebrations was the Old Savilians Festival of Rugby, where teams took to the field in competitive yet good-spirited matches – Team Black emerging victorious!
Beyond the action on the pitch, the event was a true celebration of the QEGS rugby family. Attendees enjoyed delicious food, lively conversations, and the chance to reconnect with old teammates and friends. The day culminated in a special gathering in the QE Hall, where guests reflected on the incredible history of the sport at QEGS – Mr Barker and Mr Cholewa were in their element!
A huge thank you to everyone who made the event possible—players, supporters, and organisers alike. Here’s to another 150 years!
