In a display of numerical prowess and strategic thinking, 90 students from Year 12 and Year 13 gathered at the QE Hall on Tuesday, October 1st, to compete in the annual Senior Maths Challenge.
The challenge, designed to test participants’ problem-solving abilities and mathematical reasoning, consisted of a series of complex problems that required creativity and resilience. Students are pitted against individuals from schools across the country to take on a range of questions spanning algebra, geometry, and calculus, all designed to push their analytical skills to the limit.
We will have to wait a month before the results are in and see which of our boys advance to the second round.
At QEGS, we are deeply committed to fostering an environment where all our pupils are encouraged to stretch their intellectual limits and push the boundaries of their academic potential. One such opportunity for personal and academic growth is through participation in the prestigious UK Maths Challenge. Each year, our students embrace this challenge with enthusiasm and dedication, and we are proud to regularly see many of them progressing to the advanced stages of this highly regarded competition.
We recognise distinctive abilities and potential through our Scholars Pathway which is designed to nurture talent and ability. A number of scholarships are available to students entering our Senior section and Sixth Form. Our Scholars Pathway is an integral part of their academic provision, preparing each scholar for exceptional academic performance.
