We are thrilled to announce that our 1st XV rugby team has been voted among NextGen XV’s ‘Top 5 School Teams of the Weekend’! NextGen XV, renowned as the “home of grassroots rugby,” covers major school rugby events such as the St Joseph’s Festival, Rosslyn Park National 7s, and Sedbergh 10s.

Our 1st XV team has had a phenomenal start to the season, with five consecutive wins, and their hard work has now been recognised on a national level. NextGen praised the team, stating, “QEGS are one of the great storied sides in schools rugby, and this season they are having one of their best in years. They have won five out of five this season, but the fifth on Saturday was arguably the most impressive. They took on a Durham side that was also unbeaten and arrived off the back of a 56-0 Cup win, but QEGS were equal to the challenge, winning 34-21.”

This recognition highlights the strength and dedication of our rugby programme, and we’re excited to see the boys and coaches continue building on this fantastic momentum. Up next is another big clash against AKS Lytham—also undefeated—promising to be another thrilling encounter.
