QEGS Hosts ‘Make HIS Story’ Event for Year 5 Boys

13th June 2024

Last Friday, QEGS proudly hosted the debut of “Make HIS Story!” This innovative event is designed for Year 5 boys, focusing on enhancing their teamwork, critical thinking, and creative skills as they work towards a unified goal.

This year’s challenge was to create a Paris-themed Olympics pizza, suitable for an athlete’s nutrition. With the help of Old Savilians Harrison Byrne (2018), David Turner (1992), and Charles Patterson (2022), the boys participated in various workshops including delivery car design, jingle and advert creation, pizza making, and enterprise.

The boys enjoyed a fantastic lunch provided by Holroyd Howe, featuring a variety of hot and cold meals. In the afternoon, each group presented their pizzas and adverts in front of their peers and on-looking parents, further developing their presentation and interpersonal skills.

The smiles on the boys’ faces said it all – they had an incredible time, and we look forward to hosting this event again next year!
