QEGS 1st XI Narrowly Miss Out in National Cup Fixture Against Scarborough College

23rd May 2024

In a closely contested National Cup fixture at home, our 1st XI fell short against Scarborough College. The visitors, winning the toss, elected to bat but faced an early setback thanks to a formidable start by QEGS’ opening bowlers. Captain Josh Wood led the charge, reducing Scarborough to 30-4. However, a resilient middle-order partnership revived the innings, culminating in a score of 148-5.

In response, QEGS faced a steep run rate of 7.5 an over. Despite a determined knock from Henry Warhead and some late hitting from Josh Wood, the team finished at 88-6.

Well done to all the 1st XI players who have tackled some tough fixtures this half-term. They have shown great determination and have plenty of positives to carry into the holidays.
