Happy World Book Day!

2nd March 2023

On Thursday 2nd March we celebrated World Book Day with a range of events.

Staff and students participated in ERIQ (Everyone Reading in QEGS) during the morning and the afternoon.

At lunchtime, we had an open mic session in The Hub for Poetry Podium and shared some of our 100 word Integer stories. We participated in a streamed event with renowned author Michael Morpurgo and enjoyed a book and a biscuit at the reading Cafe.

In assembly this week, we considered the importance of our own reading to boost our word power – just 15 minutes a day makes a huge impact on our vocabulary as well as boosting our knowledge.

A reminder to all students that they can access the whole Hub catalogue from chromebooks to browse the resources and manage their book reservations. We also subscribe to ePlatform (like a Kindle for Chromebooks) which is a useful tool for trying out some new book titles before borrowing them in hard copy from the Hub.
