GCSE Results Day 2020

There were lots of happy faces at QEGS this morning as students, parents and teachers celebrated another year of GCSE success with over 70% of grades in the top 9-7 bracket, an exceptional set of results in extraordinary times.

There were a number of standout performances including Alexander Race, Dimosthensis Kamposioras, Dylan Kamath, George Booth and Rohan Bhimsaria, who all achieved the holy grail of straight 9s (A** in old money). Indeed, over half of the cohort achieved at least one of these coveted 9s, which sets them up nicely for their A Levels and beyond.

Headmaster David Craig congratulated the boys for their exemplary determination and resilience in the most unsettling of academic years.

"They say that a week is a long time in politics - it has certainly been an interesting week for schools! We've just had all of our Y11 boys and their parents on the yard receiving their GCSE grades. It was a lovely atmosphere as this group celebrate top end results with over 70% in the 9-7 (A*/A) bracket. My congratulations to every single one of them - they deserve these grades and are now in a really strong position to tackle their A Levels. We have been working hard behind the scenes and plan to reopen with pretty much a normal timetable on Monday 7 September. In the meantime, I'm going for a lie down, it's been a long week!"
