The hall was alive with the sound of snapping fingers, bouncing basketballs, and non-stop applause this week as our talented Key Stage 3 pupils took to the stage for their sensational production of High School Musical Jr.
Following a well-deserved half-term break, the cast returned with boundless energy, delivering two spectacular, back-to-back evening performances that kept the audience singing along from start to finish.
The production was anchored by fantastic lead performances. Esme captured hearts as the brilliant Gabriella, bringing a beautiful vocals and warmth to the role, while Jonas perfectly channeled the charm and athletic conflict of star player Troy. The iconic, glitzy duo of Sharpay and Ryan were brought to life with incredible comedic timing and flair by Poppy and JJ, who completely stole the show during their energetic dance numbers.
Of course, a production of this scale is a massive team effort. A huge congratulations goes out to the entire ensemble cast, the backstage crew, and the tech team for putting together sixty minutes of pure, high-octane fun.
Special thanks must also go to Mr Besford, the SALT team, and the dedicated staff and students whose tireless work behind the scenes made this a production to remember.
The Wildcats have officially left the building, but the buzz of opening week won’t be forgotten anytime soon. Go Wildcats!
