On Tuesday evening, St John’s Hall was transformed into a hub of knowledge and discovery as our Stretch and Challenge Club pupils presented their much-anticipated final projects. The evening was a vibrant celebration of nine weeks of dedicated enquiry, marking a significant milestone in our pupils’ academic journeys.
Moving beyond the standard curriculum, pupils took full ownership of their learning, looking into a range of diverse topics. The breadth of topics on display was really impressive, from the mysteries of Ancient Civilisations and the mechanics of Plate Tectonics to the future of Aviation and the ethics of AI.
This initiative is designed to foster academic independence. By formulating their own research questions, pupils developed vital skills in:
Independent Research: Navigating information to find evidence-based answers.
Time Management: Planning and executing a long-term project from initial concept to completion.
Collaborative Problem-Solving: Working alongside peers to refine their ideas and presentations.
We are incredibly proud of the resilience and creativity each student demonstrated while showcasing their findings to an audience of family, friends, and teachers. The evening was a testament to our belief that when curiosity meets hard work, there are truly no limits to what our pupils can achieve.
Well done to everyone involved!
