Through entrance assessment, we are hoping to predict future potential rather than to test present knowledge.
At 12+ and 13+ (entry into Years 8 or 9), candidates are assessed on three papers: Mathematics, English and Verbal/Abstract Reasoning.
The offer of a place at QEGS is based upon performance in the Entrance Examinations, an interview with a member of the Senior Management Team and the references provided by the candidate's current school.
All supplementary examination days are by arrangement with the Admissions Secretary. A candidate will spend a full day at QEGS. He will be buddied up with a boy from his year group for breaks and lunch time. This will help him to experience QEGS life and get a feel for the school.
