This week, our Year 4 historians had a wonderful outing as part of their curriculum focus on the Ancient Egyptians. We were delighted to go as a whole year group with Year 4 pupils from WGHS and QEGS coming together, making it a fantastic collaborative experience.
The children delved deep into the past, exploring many fascinating elements of Egyptian life. They gained a richer understanding of the country’s geography, unique culture, and its remarkable history. The excitement was palpable as they came face-to-face with a real Egyptian mummy—a sight that truly brings history to life! Not only did they observe, but they also had great fun learning about the complex and intricate steps involved in the ancient mummification process.
It was a brilliant day packed with discovery that will surely support their learning back in the classroom!
