I’d like to extend a warm welcome to prospective students and their families on behalf of Queen Elizabeth’s School – a place that I’ve been a part of for the last 14 years.
From my very first day in Reception, to stepping into the role of Head Girl, this school has shaped me in more ways than I can count – not just academically, but in confidence, ambition, and self-belief.
This academic year is particularly special. As we take our first steps towards becoming a fully co-educational diamond model school, we begin a bold new chapter in Queen Elizabeth’s history – one that is built on the values of inclusivity, opportunity, and excellence for all.
The support that surrounds each student at Queen Elizabeth’s is remarkable. It creates the kind of environment where you feel able to take risks, knowing that setbacks aren’t seen as failures, but as chances to reflect, adapt, and grow. That resilience, instilled from an early age, is one of the most valuable things this school gives its students. Our Enrichment and Development Programme – where you choose an activity that enriches your learning beyond the classroom – plays a big role in this. I took part in the Oxbridge activity, which challenged me to think differently, and helped me become more independent by taking my education into my own hands, whilst still having that unwavering support from dedicated staff behind me.
It was at school that I first discovered how exciting Economics could be. The subject was brought to life through real-world discussions, debates, and essay competitions that made every lesson engaging and thought-provoking. What made it even better was the way we’re encouraged to learn from each other – sharing ideas, challenging perspectives, and working together. That spirit of collaboration runs throughout school life. I’m constantly reminded of the joy that comes from sharing what I’ve learned and how this school inspires everyone, not only to grow individually, but also to empower others along the way.
My recommendation to anyone joining Queen Elizabeth’s would be to make the most of every opportunity. Get involved – whether it’s taking on a leadership role, learning a new instrument, or joining clubs and trips. This rich conglomerate of experiences is what makes school life here so rewarding, and they create memories that will stay with you for a lifetime.
We can’t wait to welcome you this October!
