It is a great honour to welcome prospective students and their families on behalf of Queen Elizabeth’s School. 

Gaining an education through this school is something I am proud of. My journey from year 7 to being appointed as head girl is a testament to the outstanding support from teachers and the school. It has enabled me to foster confidence, create ambitions, and instil integrity. It is indisputable that the camaraderie and inclusivity of this school build respectful, aspiring, and inquisitive minds.

This coming year heralds great historical significance as the boys and girls will unite to form our new Queen Elizabeth School, Wakefield. Together, we are building and shaping new traditions under one roof, but our core values and ethos will continue to be treasured. I am excited and delighted to be part of this new chapter, and I look forward to seeing the benefits our new co-educational outlook will bring to school life; working together as one body. 

At our school we enjoy many opportunities which extend beyond the classroom. The Enrichment program, held every Wednesday afternoon, encourages students to discover passions and develop personal ambitions. These activities range from freedom in creative expression, broadening subject knowledge beyond the curriculum, to honing sporting skills. There truly is something for everyone. From ice skating to archery, clay pigeon shooting to dog training, adventure awaits in many varied forms.

Through this extracurricular program, I discovered my love for science, and it sparked my desire to study medicine at university. A career in medicine has been brought to life through suturing clubs, talks given by alumni doctors, and the medicine and dentistry focus evening. These opportunities and experiences prepare you for life beyond the classroom, ensuring students feel supported and are given the best opportunities and information to help them follow their ambitions.

My message for families applying to Queen Elizabeth’s School is simple: grasp the opportunities this school offers; they are exceptional. Be open to trying new challenges, learning new skills, and making new friends along the way. There are a myriad of paths to explore, and this school will help you along any path you choose.
