Transforming Lives of Talented Individuals

At Queen Elizabeth’s School, Wakefield, we understand that scholarships can transform lives and create a lasting impact for our Scholars. We are dedicated to investing in the education and growth of talented individuals, with the goal of accelerating their development and helping them achieve their fullest potential.

Each year, a number of students entering Year 7 and Year 12 who demonstrate academic merit benefit from bursaries and scholarships. Admission is based on their performance in the entrance exam and personal interview, with bursaries and scholarships awarded on an individual basis.

Bursaries

A number of means tested bursaries are available to students joining Year 7 or Year 12 covering up to 75% of School fees. Our bursaries are offered to pupils who rank highly in the entrance exam or have excellent GCSE grades (Year 12 bursaries) and whose families meet our financial criteria to ensure that a wide range of students have the opportunity to attend Queen Elizabeth’s.

To apply for a bursary, please tick the appropriate box on the application form as you apply. We will contact you to request further documentation to support your application.

Applicants who qualify for a bursary will be advised of the value of their award at the time of a school place being offered.

Senior Section Scholarships

Each year, our school awards a number of academic scholarships to the brightest students entering our Senior Section. These scholarships are not only a recognition of individual achievement but also an opportunity to broaden horizons and inspire students to go “beyond the syllabus.”

Through our scholarship program, students gain access to a variety of enrichment opportunities that challenge them academically as they progress toward their external examinations.

Sixth Form Scholarships

There are a number of scholarships available for students joining the Sixth Form.

Scholarships are awarded to students each year who perform very highly in an exam paper in their chosen subject. There are separate assessments for Music, Art, and Sports scholarships.
