Our FS1 pupils enjoyed a wonderful start to the term, creating their very own pancake masterpieces while practicing their fine motor skills, drizzling syrup and carefully selecting their favourite toppings. It was a delicious way to learn and play together, setting a joyful tone for the weeks to follow. We also had great fun learning about Eid and Easter and the religious meaning behind these two cultural celebrations.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">By the second week of term, our pupils in FS1 met some new feathery friends. The arrival of duckling eggs brought a sense of magic to the classroom as we prepared for the 'big hatch.' Before they arrived, pupils shared some incredibly creative theories about what might be inside, with guesses ranging from chickens and snakes to dinosaurs, and even a lion! Since then, our pupils have transitioned into expert caretakers, studying the lifecycle of a duck and learning how to handle them with the utmost care while deliberating over the perfect names for their fluffy new residents.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As we moved into March, our Year 2 historians adventured to Sandal Castle under a clear blue sky. Exploring the ruins brought their classroom learning to life as they examined the motte and bailey structure, took time for outdoor sketching, and identified the various defensive features of the castle. Later in the month, the school was transformed into a living library for World Book Day 2026. From Mary Poppins and Mr. Tickle to Harry Potter himself, it was inspiring to see such a vibrant array of costumes. Beyond the outfits, the day highlighted our pupils' genuine passion for storytelling and their shared love of reading. We would like to extend a huge thank you to our parents and pupils for the incredible effort that went into these fantastic costumes.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It was also delightful to welcome so many loved ones to our Mother\u2019s Day Afternoon Tea. The afternoon was filled with smiles, treats, and plenty of tea as our pupils cherished this extra-special time with their families. We hope all the mothers and mother figures in our school community enjoyed a wonderful weekend of relaxation. To round off these highlights, we are\u00a0 celebrating our first Foundation Culture Day tomorrow.
