It is the role of our Wellbeing Ambassadors to plan our themed Wellbeing Weeks.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Throughout our Mental Health Week we have been reinforcing simple techniques such as daily meditation and mindfulness practices to help our children take control of their mental wellbeing.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In our topic lessons the children researched famous young people such as Malala Yousafzai and Greta Thunberg, finding out who they are and how they have enabled their voices to be heard. In their literacy lessons, Years 1 and 2 have explored poetry with the theme of \u2018I am me\u2019. The children wrote their poems and some were selected to read them out in our Feel Good Friday assembly.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<b>Safer Internet Day<\/b>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In our ICT lessons we shone the spotlight on internet safety and discussed different ways we can stay safe online. We also assigned a Bounce Together survey to pupils in KS1 linked to internet safety which we will complete in school. The children learnt about how technology and the internet can change people's feelings and how to get help from a trusted adult. We covered the following:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\r\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2022 Young people\u2019s perspective on new and emerging technology<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\r\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2022 Using the internet to make change for the better<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\r\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2022 The changes young people want to see online<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\r\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2022 The things that can influence and change the way young people think, feel<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\r\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and act online and offline<\/span>\r\n\r\n<b>Feel Good Friday - Express Yourself!<\/b>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We\u2019re all different \u2013 we all have different things that make us tick and that bring a smile to our face. Our theme for Feel Good Friday on 9th February was to celebrate what makes us unique with an incredibly fun dress-up day \u2013 from sharing their favourite hobby, such as skateboarding or dancing, or wearing their favourite colour or accessory or simply coming in as themselves. Express Yourself is about letting the children\u2019s voice shine through and empowering them to tell their own stories!<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The children also expressed themselves on Friday 9th February through pottery painting with our fabulous Friends of Pre-Prep (FOPPS). In the afternoon we held a carousel of activities in each year group.
