In the Pre-Prep section, Mrs Gill led a meaningful discussion on the importance of this day, while Mr Rowley and Mr Thompson hosted assemblies for the Junior Sections, ensuring the significance of remembrance was understood by all the pupils.\r\n\r\nAt 10:58 AM, a solemn atmosphere settled across all sites. Chosen pupils and staff members collaboratively coordinated the poignant rendition of The Last Post, marking the beginning of the two-minute silence. This moment of unified silence allowed every member of our school community to reflect deeply on the many people who have served for our country. At QEGS, the entire community gathered outside around the cenotaph, a powerful symbol of memory and tribute. Meanwhile, a quiet service was held in Room 19 at Wakefield Girls\u2019 High School (WGHS), and at Pre-Prep, children and staff assembled together in the hall.\r\n\r\nThese services provided an invaluable opportunity to honour the dedicated servicemen and women who sacrificed their lives for their country. Readings were shared, bringing moments of profound contemplation and forming a powerful tribute that underscored the solemnity of the occasion.\r\n\r\nA sincere thank you to every staff member and pupil whose contribution ensured the successful execution of these events.
