Congratulations to our new Junior Head Girl and Deputy Head Girl - we know you will make us proud!<\/span>\r\n\r\n<b><i>Read on as we get to know our new Junior Head Girl Umayyah, and Deputy Head Girl Abby:<\/i><\/b>\r\n\r\n<b>What are you most excited about in your new roles?<\/b>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Abby: I\u2019m most excited about having some new responsibilities and also to do more speeches. In particular, I\u2019m excited to present to Pre-prep about what life is like in Junior school, to tell the Year 2 children a little bit more about Junior school life, and that there is nothing to be worried about as I know some children get a bit worried about moving up schools.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Umayyah: I\u2019m looking forward to doing assemblies and speeches! I\u2019m also enjoying the new added responsibilities and being a good role model for younger students to look up to.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<b>What are important qualities that you need as Head and Deputy Head Girl?<\/b>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Umayyah: I think you need good leadership and teamwork skills. You need to be able to represent people. It\u2019s important to treat people how you want to be treated, so I\u2019ll make sure to do that whilst being Head Girl.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Abby: I think it is really important that you listen to others, we will use our new roles to listen to our fellow students and then use our voices to tell teachers we work with, and try to help students.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<b>What does your role as Head and Deputy Head Girl include?<\/b>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Abby: We do lunch duties along with the prefects and Heads of Houses. We organise these leaders to see when they are free and create a rota to make sure everyone knows when they are doing their lunch duty.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Umayyah: We will be organising events, to raise money for charity or to celebrate different occasions. For example, I would really like to organise a dress-up day for science week, where all students dress up as an inspirational scientist that they like or find interesting. We are going to try and make sure that there are things for all students in every year group to enjoy. I would also love to run a bake sale for charity!<\/span>\r\n\r\n<b>What skills are you developing in your role?<\/b>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Abby: I think being deputy head girl is helping me to get used to more responsibility, which I think will help me when I start in Senior\u2019s in September. I also like the challenge because although it is slightly scary, I am proud of myself for pushing myself out of my comfort zone.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Umayyah: I think I am becoming a better leader.
