encouraging children to be environmentally conscious and informed about global warming is beneficial to their education and being a proactive global citizen.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We recognise our social responsibility to improve and make any changes we can do, to improve and become more sustainable, that is why <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">this year we launched our Eco-Schools Committee, to begin working towards the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eco-schools.org.uk\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Eco-Schools Accreditation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. The Accreditation requires schools to complete a 7-step programme.<\/span>\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<b><i>The Seven-Step programme is as follows:<\/i><\/b>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Step 1: Launch an Eco-Committee<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Step 2: Complete an Environmental Review<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Step 3: Create an Action Plan<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Step 4: Embed Curriculum Links<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Step 5: Informing and Involving<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Step 6: Monitoring and Evaluation<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Step 7: Create an Eco-Code<\/span>\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We have already created our Eco-Committee, buzzing with enthusiastic students from Year 7-Year 13. Students attend fortnightly meetings and discuss the tasks they have been working on and progress they have made. The eco-committee is a brilliant way to get involved in school life and play a role in changing our school for the better - new members are always welcome to join and develop their leadership and collaborative skills.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The team has big ideas and we are looking forward to seeing what suggestions and changes they make, to make our school environment more sustainable and to support our school community in being more environmentally conscious.
