The teams were given three motions to prepare one month ahead of the debates, which are linked to their A Level studies, namely \u2018Digital technologies improve our lives\u2019, \u2018Travel abroad does more harm than good\u2019 and for the semi-final, \u2018It should be obligatory to learn a foreign language until the age of 18\u2019. The students prepared arguments for and against the motions, and a coin-toss on the day decided whether they would be arguing in favour or against.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The competition from the other schools was fierce, but our students showed great resilience and grit. They worked together to put forth their arguments and challenge their opponents\u2019 views using their language skills. Although they were not successful in reaching the final rounds, they learnt a lot from the experience and are keen to try again next year!
