The sounds are still reverberating across campus. Special mention must go to our wonderful soloists - Eleanor Bowen (Year 13) who performed <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carmichael arr. Morrison's<\/span> <em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Georgia on My Mind, <\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and Jihan Ha who performed Karl Jenkins <em>Palladio - 1st Movement.<\/em><\/span>\r\n\r\nA big thank you for all students who performed, to all the students who manage sound, stage and light and especially to our fabulous Year 13 students, for whom that was their final performance before we say goodbye to them in summer.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Year 10 student R\u00f3is\u00edn Daly shares her thoughts about the concerts:<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I think we can all agree that the two yearly music concerts are one of the highlights of the school year. Uniting students from Year 7 or sometimes younger, all the way to our Year 13 leavers, they strengthen the connection between music and friendship.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We opened Wednesday night\u2019s concert with Youth Brass Band, including a fabulous solo from Head Girl Eleanor Bowen. The entertainment only continued involving superb, comedic interviews from Mr Varley; a Star Wars re-enactment from Percussion Ensemble; and excellent dancing skills from Show Choir led by two Year 13\u2019s, Alex Lee and Mia Sedgewick. Another strong opening to the second half with beautiful singing from Emily Pridham and Tara Karim, after a comfortable interval with sweet treats on sale from Year 10 QEGS entrepreneurs. Transported all over the universe, from Neapolitan Guaglione to California Dreaming and a Galaxy Far Far Away, it was a fabulous first <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">instalment<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0from all involved.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thursday evening followed in an equally impressive fashion. Including two debut bands, and two student-led bands it was a truly inspiring night. Speaking of fashion Horns with Hats, one of the newly formed groups led by Mrs Bentham, certainly entertained; and the country dancing <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from the folk<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> band was a fantastic addition. We had a night of delightful singing from Mantabile, Foundation Chorus and Cantabile; and closed off with a splendid set from Swing Foundation led by Mr Lewis, including some <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">impromptu<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0piano playing from Mr Varley!
