This week, the girls took part in a variety of activities to increase the awareness of wellbeing and looking after for yourself and others.
The week started with the Year 7s making fresh fruit smoothies for the Year 10s, it was a brilliant healthy start to the week and the Year 10 girls were very thankful and complimentary of the smoothies. The Year 7s worked well in groups to create different flavours of smoothies showing how easy it would be to make at home. Most of the girls had never made a smoothie before however after this they knew they would be making more at home.
The Greatest Showman has been one of those films that makes anyone watching feel amazing and empowered, so what better way for Year 9 to spend their lunch time than singing and dancing to one of the songs?! They kindly had two Sixth Formers showing them a dance routine for the song and the brilliant School orchestra accompanied the girls to keep them in time. To sing at the top of your lungs with your friends is a great feeling and after the song had finished all the girls had massive smiles on their faces and the room felt electric.
Years 7, 8 & 9 created a wellbeing wall in which they wrote: the best advice they had been given, someone who loves them and their best qualities. These positive words were written on bricks and the girls built their wall of positivity which is a great way to increase mental wellbeing.
The week finished with Year 11, 12 & 13 having a coffee morning with lots of wellbeing cupcakes. As it was the last Friday before half-term the staff were keen to join in to help make sure the cakes were gone and all the girls had smiles on their faces talking to their peers!
