Join us for Creative Arts exploring Impressionism across the subjects of Music, Drama, Art and Textiles offering a wonderful opportunity for you to express your creative side while getting to know more about Wakefield Girls. You'll spend the day in our fabulous creative workshop and studio and see where it all began for artist and sculptor Barbara Hepworth. You will take part in a carousel of four creative workshops culminating with your own artistic, theatrical and musical Impressionist masterpieces. Lunch will be provided with the opportunity to talk with your new friends and some of our Year 7 girls.
The day is for Year 5 girls with a passion for the arts, whether that be Music, Drama, Art or Textiles. No prior training or practice is required.
You will learn about the work of Impressionist artists through the lenses of Music, Drama, Art and Textiles, creating your own masterpieces to display in our end of day exhibition. You will have the chance to take part in a performance in our professionally equipped drama studio supported with full lighting and sound. Throughout the day our specialist teachers in each creative subject lead the workshops, advising, guiding and sharing their knowledge with you, as well as introducing you to some of our girls, who will also share their own first-hand experiences.
