Wakefield Girls’ High School

Entry Guidelines (16+)

Girls wishing to join the WGHS Sixth Form are subject to the same entry requirements as existing Year 11 girls. A girl is required to achieve 414 points from their best nine GCSEs.

  • A* - 58 points
  • A - 52 points
  • B - 46 points
  • C - 40 points

It would generally be expected that a girl achieves a Grade B or higher in a subject at GCSE which they wish to study at AS Level.

There is the expectation that a girl will pass English Language and Mathematics at GCSE with a Grade C or above.

In addition, individual interviews will be held with the Head of Sixth Form and Heads of Department relevant to proposed A-Level Study. Girls may also be asked to provide examples of GCSE work undertaken.
