Wakefield Girls’ High School

Science week at Mulberry House

Last week, Nursery and all the girls at Mulberry House took part in Science Week.

The week began with different experiments for each year group. Reception girls looked at aeroplanes, egg rolling and a skittle experiment! In Year 1 the girls enjoyed doing a fruit tea experiment. The girls in Year 2 enjoyed making yummy feeders for the birds.

On Tuesday, the girls had an assembly with a real-life scientist! This was very exciting and led on to more experiments in classrooms over the course of the day.

There were yet more visitors in school on Wednesday - of the exotic variety! The lovely volunteers from Morley Exotic Animal Rescue Centre brought some of their animals to see the girls and Nursery. The animals included a tarantula, a skunk and a snake!

It was World Book Day on Thursday, so the girls had a break from all things science, and dressed up as a character from their favourite book.

What a week!
