In difficult conditions and with momentum shifting repeatedly, the visitors showed composure and resilience to secure a 21\u201316 victory.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"343\" data-end=\"716\">Durham struck first with an early penalty, taking advantage of territory and a strong start. QEGS, however, responded with the first try of the afternoon. A well-executed set-piece saw a clean line-out transition seamlessly into a powerful driving maul, allowing back-row forward Powell to crash over. Captain Hunter added the conversion to give the visitors a narrow lead.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"718\" data-end=\"964\">Durham replied with a second penalty as both sides battled for control in a tightly contested and physical encounter. With handling made difficult by the conditions, the game naturally narrowed and at half-time QEGS held a slender 7\u20136 advantage.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"966\" data-end=\"1173\">QEGS made the ideal start to the second half. Hunter, influential throughout, spotted a gap close to the posts to go over before converting his own try to extend the lead and offer brief breathing space.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"1175\" data-end=\"1385\">But the hosts mounted a determined response. A converted Durham try reduced the deficit to one point, and a subsequent penalty swung the match back in their favour at 16\u201314, setting up a gripping final quarter.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"1387\" data-end=\"1694\">Under mounting pressure and with Durham gaining confidence, QEGS showed impressive patience and clarity. Sustained phases eventually opened a rare crack in the home defence, and Powell powered over for his second try of the match. Hunter\u2019s third successful conversion restored a five-point cushion at 21\u201316.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"1696\" data-end=\"1969\">Durham pressed hard in the closing minutes, throwing everything into search of a decisive score, but QEGS\u2019s defence held firm.
