The assembly was delivered in two parts with James recalling facts about the history of the war and Edward re-enacting with his vast array of equipment and textiles .\r\n\r\nJames spoke about the main events of the first and second world wars, this allowed us all to see his clear passion for history and demonstrated how he had won the \u2018Spirit of Normandy\u2019 national essay competition two years in a row. He gave the boys lots of information but kept them on their toes with mini quizzes throughout the talk.<img src=\"https:\/\/assets.wgsf.org.uk\/2023\/02\/IMG_6181-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\r\n\r\nEdward took over after a short break and gave the boys lots of information about the war memorabilia that he has collected over the years. The boys were enthralled listening to the details of how the deactivated guns would have worked and seeing the uniforms from the time. Edward has been taking part in historical re-enactments for 5 years and has amassed a great knowledge and understanding of the uniforms and webbing used in WW2. He has picked history for his GCSE and would love to make a career out of his passion.
