Recent topics have included, respect for property and the importance of personal honesty in PSHE; caring friendships, delivered in a Form Assembly by 5D; and visits from the Wakefield Council Road Safety team. Coming up, we will be looking at a range of topics from mental health to internet safety, all of which are aiming to contribute to the boys\u2019 holistic development. All topics are developed further year-on- year throughout the Key Stages.\r\n<div class=\"align-none\">\r\n\r\n<img src=\"https:\/\/assets.wgsf.org.uk\/2023\/02\/IMG_6071-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>The key changes to the rewards and sanctions system have become embedded within KS2 since their recent introductions. Moving from House Points and Red and Yellow Cards to Merits and Demerits have helped align the pastoral system throughout the school. Merits and Demerits are now visible to parents on Firefly. The aim of this visibility is to give parents a clearer picture of what is going on within school and to make it easier to discuss aspects of the school day positively. Milestone certificates have also been introduced and many boys have now received their Bronze Certificate for earning 50 merits and some have even achieved the Silver Certificate for 100 merits.\r\n\r\nHopefully in the near future we will be presenting Gold (150 merit) and Platinum (200 merit) certificates.\r\n\r\nAs we would have expected there are significantly more Merits being awarded than Demerits and this, I hope, will allow you to have positive conversations with your son about the school day.
