Year 12 High Achievers

This year, three new ties have been introduced to recognise the academic and extra-curricular success of our 6th Formers.

In the GCSE class of 2017-18, the Savile tie (blue background) recognises the 18 students who have achieved at a very high standard across the whole curriculum, with the majority of their grades being at level 8 or 9.

The Academic tie (gold background) was awarded to 16 students who achieved a grade 9 in an individual subject, and the Exceptional in Extra-Curricular (black background) is awarded to those who go ‘above and beyond’ during their time in school.

Nationally, the number of grade 9s awarded to boys is 4%, this year at QEGS it was approaching 4 times that many; we are sure you can see why we are so proud of this cohort and hope that they wear their ties with pride.

We are also extremely grateful to QEGS PA who supported this new initiative and donated generously.
