U14 Ireland Rugby Tour

The QEGS U14 Rugby Team departed for Belfast on Thursday, excited for the trip ahead but also anticipating some tough rugby matches.

From landing, we played Campbell College. Earlier in the season we were defeated with only 27 players available due to numerous injuries and the results for both A and B Teams reflected this. However in the away fixture, the B Team narrowly lost 12-7 in a really tight game where a lot of positives could be taken from the performance. The A Team also narrowly lost with the last kick of the game, the final result 24-21 to Campbell College.

After a trip to Giants Causeway, Portrush and then watching Ulster on the Friday, the lads had the Ulster Cup (A) and the Ulster Triangular (B) to compete in. The B Team played some great rugby and narrowly lost again to Campbell College 15-13 in the final match.

The A Team managed to get to the Trophy Final narrowly losing 3-0 to Sullivan School which was a fantastic achievement amongst strong opposition throughout the day.

We would like to thank our sponsors, ERE Property, Select Property Group and Heston for their kind support.

The staff would like to thank the boys for being great ambassadors for the school and encompassing the brotherhood that is QEGS Rugby Club.
