1st XV power their way to another Schools Cup SF!

Yesterday the 1st XV travelled to Kings Macclesfield, Cheshire for their QF fixture in the Schools Cup.

With a customary 'away' draw at this stage, the squad was well-prepared to face a tough encounter.

Despite the gloomy, grey conditions and a slightly slippery pitch, the 'black and golds' came out firing on all cylinders, taking an early lead a few minutes into the game.

Forward dominance created space for the powerful backs to cut holes in the Kings defence, with QEGS entering HT with a comfortable lead.

Credit to the home side, they never let their heads fall, but QEGS went into the game with one purpose in mind - a place in the Semi-Finals to be played at Allianz Park in early March, and with a very competent performance, they emerged the winners 29-0.

Once again, QEGS has shown its rugby pedigree in this competition, and once the date is announced, hopefully a see of QEGS supporters will once again make the pilgrimage to Allianz Park to cheer the boys on!
