While school is quiet as pupils remain safe at home The Design and Technology workshop at Wakefield Girls' High School continues to buzz with the efforts of our dedicated teachers manufacturing PPE.
Brent Carlin, Head of D&T has halved manufacturing time of face shield part of the visors by using our school laser cutter and has recently improved production efficiency of the headband component by moving production to our 3D printers, leaving them to operate 24/7.
The Scrub Hub have delivered their first sets of scrubs and scrub bags to Pinderfields Hospital in our local community. "We are sending out PPE as quickly as we make it," reports Brent.
"As news reports continue to highlight the difficutlies healthcare workers face obtaining vital personal protective equipment, our dedicated staff remain motivated to help our community in between their guided home learning with our pupils," says Ms Boyes.
