ICT

Ethos of the Department

Information Communication Technology (ICT) is an integral part of much of the teaching and learning at QEGS. Boys have access to a wide range of hardware and software which is used extensively in all subject area. Boys are always encouraged to think about what they want or need to produce rather than what they are currently able to do.

They are encouraged to explore the capabilities of a particular software package. They should all be able to complete any task within the time available with more able students exploring more advanced functions. Boys are encouraged to plan their work and be critical of their and others’ finished product.

The Department aims to make all students competent in the main areas of ICT. To give them the opportunities to enhance their expertise and use the skills they acquire appropriately in school and at home. Students are encouraged to use their expertise in other subjects as appropriate and we also encourage other departments to use the facilities and staff/student expertise to enhance their work in their own areas.

The Department aims to make students aware of the impact of ICT on society including social, moral and economic issues.
